definition - what is highland-instinct?
During the long spring of 2003, Highland-Instinct - then known under the alternate name SkiHighland - was born. Based in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, Highland-Instinct has - and continues to - become increasingly well known within the Scottish mountain sports fraternity as being both a resource and a hive for like minded individuals.
For the 2006/07 winter season Highland-Instinct took its continual development a stage further with an emphasis on providing more information for the end user in a move which it is hoped will appeal to all hill users, whether novices or experts, weekend warriors or all-weather zealots.
While no longer offering independent snow reporting, originally the fundamentally most important aspect of the website, Highland-Instinct will continue to grow and branch out into other fields. While changing circumstances and time constraints have meant that necessary cuts have had to be made to some of the site's features in order to keep the website afloat, we are confident that we still have much to offer the end user. We believe it, and surely so too do the 105,000 visitors that accessed 900,000 pages on Highland-Instinct last winter alone (2008/09 season).
Run by Jamie, our [ very busy ] webmaster and the one to blame for this whole thing, Highland-Instinct has - over the course of its short but colourful history - seen a few lows, but now for 2010, whatever your choice of mountain tool, sit back and enjoy the ride because it's time to get ready for the highs. |
