With sunshine all day, it's a pity that the snow had vastly depleated since last weekend. The runs that are open though still offer a good cover. The Ptarmigan Bowl has a few soggy and bare patches, but still generally a good width. The Ciste Gully below the Ptarmigan T-Bar is closed as the burn is re-emerging but remains complete. The Ciste Fairway is thin and scraped on the steeper sections.
The Traverse is fully complete, as is the section between the Traverse and the 105. The 105 is thinner further down nearer to the Gunbarrel, but is wide with a good cover. The Cas has a good cover both on and off-piste. The Zig-Zags are fine on the upper leg, but lower down the snow is very thin and almost impossible to avoid all rocks without walking. The Cas T-Bar was loading from the bottom, but tomorrow will load from the top of the Gunbarrel.
At the end of the day two of us picked our way across to the Fiacaill Ridge where we went down the poma uptrack to the Cas carpark. One rocky patch which was passable with care, and it becomes narrower nearer the bottom, but you can theoretically get to within a few metres of the bottom of the tow. Marquis' Well snowfield and others were said to be in good shape.
