A beautiful day and as it turned out in parts of the Highlands the hottest day of the year so far on Saturday. Patchy early cloud and mist on the North and Eastern side of the Cairngorms was dispersing rapidly on the drive over the A939 and B976 in the morning, with unbroken sunshine on arrival at Glenshee.
Today's walk about with Dr Adam Watson was organized as a thank you for those who have contributed to snow patch monitoring over the past couple of summers.
The day started with the group meeting up in the Cafe at the base before taking the Cairnwell Chairlift up the Cairnwell and a short walk up the final section to the Summit. After walking back down, Dr Adam Watson led a few cars north to stop at various points of interest at the roadside.
