Situated at the end of a short access road just off the A82, Glencoe is positioned amidst some of the most stunning scenery in Scotland, and with improved transport services, Glencoe isn't as far away as you think.

• Car

Glencoe is situated on the A82, approximately 26 miles south of Fort William and 23 miles north of Crianlarich. From the north, continue past Fort William and follow the road south.

From the south, take the M74 and from Glasgow follow signs to Dumbarton on the A82. Past Dumbarton, the A82 will continue all the way to Glencoe. The scenic route will take you along the shore of Loch Lomond as you move north past Crianlarich, Tyndrum and over Rannoch Moor - from here, the Glencoe Ski Area is clearly sign posted.

If you are travelling from the east there are several routes off the A9 which take you to Crianlarich and north. These routes include the A84 from Perth, the A85 from Stirling and the A827 from Balinluig. Refer to our Route Finder to help plan your trip by road (note that the journey times are innaccurate).

• Train
The train stations in Bridge of Orchy and Fort William are the closest to Glencoe, and are both serviced by a daily sleeper train. For further information log onto the National Rail Enquiries website.

• Bus
The nearest station is Fort William which is serviced daily by a Scottish Citylink service from Glasgow. This service stops at "White Corries" which is the access road to Glencoe Mountain Resort. For further information on bus travel to Glencoe contact Scottish Citylink or the National Express.

• Air
Numerous airlines operate flights to Inverness, Glasgow and Prestwick, which are the nearest airports to Glencoe. Car hire or bus can transport you the additional distance to Glencoe.
